Facing their fourth undefeated team ranked in the top 10 this season, the #11 Horned Frogs didn't flinch and handed the previously undefeated #9 Boise St Broncos 17-16 in San Diego at the 2008 Poinsiettia Bowl. What a great night for Coach Patterson, his team, and all of TCU. After falling behind 13-0 early in the game, TCU dominated the rest of the way outgaining Boise St 472 yards to 250 and held the ball for over 36 minutes of the game. The Frogs just wore the Broncos down. Boise St came into the game averagin 39 points and 456 yards a game, but they had not faced a defense like the Frogs who were the #2 rated defense in the nation.
TCU finished the season with an 11-2 record and will certainly have another top 10 finish in the final rankings. With this win, TCU has won 4 straight bowl games, reached 11 wins for the third time in four seasons, and have 41 games in the past four years. One of the best records in the nation. Congrats to Coach Patterson, his staff and team....great job!
