Today was another outstanding day for the TCU soccer team, as we hosted our Second Annual Mentoring Luncheon at Garvey Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Thanks to the amazing efforts of Laurie and Roy Topham, along with our Director of Operations Angie Nickens, we were able to host 17 prominent professionals from the Ft Worth community for lunch with members of the TCU Soccer team. We do this every year to allow our student athletes meet professionals in the career fields they have an interest in. It gives them a chance to learn first hand from these professionals, ask questions about their experiences, and get an idea of what it takes to be successful in their career field. It is an invaluable experience for our student athletes through the friendships that develop along with the opportunities for internships and job placement.
This year the group of professionals who were able to join us and share their experiences included the following fields: sports agent, sports marketing, advertising, physical therapist, dietician, psychologist, nurses, event planning, journalist (sports & broadcast), teacher, CEO of an engineering firm, commercial real estate, accounting and an art curator. It was truly a wide range of very successful outstanding professionals the members of our team were able to spend time with.
It was another great event, and another example of how unique TCU Soccer is in our commitment to building Champions for Life!
