The TCU women's soccer team will open the 2009 MWC Women's Soccer Championship on Wednesday against Utah.
Start time for the match against the Utes is set for 1 p.m. CT at BYU's South Stadium. TCU, who is the No. 6 seed, closed its regular season with a 9-9-0 overall record, including a 2-5-0 record in the MWC.
The conference tournament will take place Nov. 4-7 at South Stadium on the campus of BYU in Provo, Utah. The opening match will see No. 3 Utah vs. No. 6 TCU at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The other Wednesday match will include No. 4 seed New Mexico vs. No. 5 seed Wyoming at 4 p.m. CT. No. 1 seed BYU and No. 2 seed San Diego State will have first-round byes and will play in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 5. The Aztecs will play the winner of the Utes and Horned Frogs.
The Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Championship title match is slated for 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 7, with the winner earning an automatic bid into the 2009 NCAA Women's College Cup.
The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network will air Thursday's semifinals live at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. CT. The championship game, scheduled for 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 7, will be streamed live on The Mtn.'s Web site (www.themtn.tv) and air on the linear network via same-day tape delay at 1 a.m. CT. It will also be re-broadcast at 3 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 8. The tandem of Bill Riley and Mark Rogondino will call all games on Nov. 5 and 7. Marius Payton and Bill Doleman, along with guest analyst Brian Crookham, will also provide a breakdown of Thursday's semifinal games from the studio. Wednesday's first-round games will also be streamed live on BYU's Web site (www.byucougars.com).
