TCU had several chances to find the back of the net Friday night, but dropped a hard fought 1-0 decision to No. 26 USC in front of 2,318 spectators at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
In a physical back and fourth match in front of the second largest crowd in stadium history, TCU missed on several scoring opportunities halfway through the first half.
Overall, TCU had nine different players record multiple shot attempts on Sunday. The Frogs, who played in front of 1,078 spectators, played a total of 25 players on Sunday.
TCU simply dominated Sam Houston State, holding a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks for the match. Pence, who faced constant pressure from the Frogs throughout the contest, made 14 of SHSU's 16 saves. Sophomore Kira Michelson-Bartlett, who replaced starter Kelsey Walters in the second half, posted three saves.
