GameDay versus UNLV


Friday's match against UNLV will mark the seventh meeting between the two conference foes. The Rebels lead the all-time series, 4-1-1.

In 2009, TCU posted its first victory over UNLV in program history, downing the Rebels in overtime, 3-2. Overall, the last two meetings between UNLV and TCU have gone to overtime, including a 1-1 double overtime draw in 2008 at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
Torda Ready For More HeroicsSenior Jackie Torda has played her best against UNLV during her four years in Fort Worth. Overall, the Colleyville native has posted 11 shots and three goals all-time against the Rebels, including two of the Horned Frogs three goals last fall. Upon further look, Torda has played a major part in TCU's late game heroics against UNLV the last couple of years.

In 2009, Torda scored the gamewinner in overtime at the 97:16 mark to lift TCU to a 3-2 victory over UNLV at Peter Johann Memorial Field. Rewind to the season before and the then sophomore netted the equalizing goal in the 84th minute of the second half to force overtime.
Bouncing Back NicelyThe Frogs will look to continue a winning trend this Friday night when it faces off against UNLV. During the last four seasons, TCU is 3-0-1 in its next game following its first conference loss of the season. Overall, the Purple and White have combined to outscore their opponents in their next game, 5-1. In those four contests, TCU has played in overtime twice, including a double overtime scoreless match with New Mexico in 2006.

Double Overtimes Nothing New Under AbdallaWhen TCU battled San Diego State to double overtime last weekend, it marked the fifth double overtime contest in the last six years in MWC play. TCU, who has taken UNLV to overtime in both 2008 and 2009, has played a total of 12 overtime matches against conference foes under head coach Dan Abdalla during the last five years. During those 12 contests, TCU is a combined 3-5-4 overall, including going 2-1-0 last fall. In their last seven overtime matches dating back to a 1-1 double overtime draw to Friday night's opponent UNLV in 2008, the Purple and White have gone 3-3-1.
