Catching Up With Kaylie Garcia

Sophomore Midfielder Kaylie Garcia recently sat down with TCU Sports Information Director Matt Hoover:

What are you doing this summer for the upcoming season?

"I went to Mexico City this summer for a 10-day camp to train with the Mexican National Team. It was very different being down there, but I'm glad I got to go because it was a really good experience and I learned a lot of new things. Now that I'm back in Fort Worth, I will be training on my own and playing some games with the national team."

What do you expect this season from the team?

"I expect good things for this upcoming fall season. I am really excited to get things going because I know that everyone is dedicated and we are going to do whatever it takes to win that Mountain West Conference Championship and get a bid into the NCAA Tournament."

What do you like to do off the field?

"Off the field, I like to hangout with my friends and family, sleep, go to the lake, watch television with Hannah, listen to Taylor Swift with Jackie and spend nights with the team."

If you could be on a television show for one day, what would it be and why?

"If I could be on a TV show for one day, I would be on Keeping Up With The Kardashians because I think they are hilarious and always seem to have fun. It's one of my favorite shows."

Who is you favorite soccer player and why?

"Jordan Calhoun is my favorite soccer player because she's amazing and we have played together since we were 10 years old. We go way back."

If you could play any sport other then soccer, what would it be and why?

"If I could play any sport other than soccer it would be volleyball because its fun especially sand volleyball. I used to play when I was younger."

How excited are you for this season?

"I am very excited for this season! I am expecting great things and can't wait to get out there and show everyone what we got. It's going to be a good year."
