TCU missed on several offensive chances on Saturday night, dropping a hard fought 2-0 decision to No. 11 BYU in front of 1,996 spectators at South Stadium.
The Horned Frogs, who continually pressured the No. 11 team in the country for most of the night, totaled 10 shots in a physical match in Provo, while claiming a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks in the contest. The Frogs, who's offensive attack found themselves deep in BYU territory many times, watched as one shot hit the post and Cougar keeper McKinzie Olson made a kick save midway through the second half to keep the Frogs off the board.
Calhoun, a sophomore from Norman, Okla, appeared to have scored from the left side of the field, but Olson made a kick save to keep the Frogs off the board. A few seconds later, Calhoun made a run into the Cougar defense, but her shot rocketed off the post.
With the loss, TCU moved to 8-8-0 on the year and 1-4-0 in the Mountain West Conference, while BYU improved to 13-2-2 and 4-0-1 in the MWC.
The Horned Frogs will next be in action at UNLV on Oct. 23. Start time for the match is set for 7 p.m. PT.
