Torda gets Conference Honors

Junior Jackie Torda was honored on Monday as the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Torda, a Colleyville native, netted the game-winning goal in TCU's 3-2 overtime victory at UNLV last weekend. On the play, Michelle Nguyen played a ball into the box to Torda who slid past a UNLV defender to toe the ball into the back of the net in the 98th minute. Earlier in the match, Torda put the Frogs on the board in the 36th minute, drilling a shot from 30 yards out into the upper half of the goal over the outstretched arms of UNLV goalkeeper Alicia Lugo.

With her two-goal outing, Torda moved into No. 6 all-time in career goals with 18 for her career.

TCU will close its regular season this Friday night against San Diego State. Start time for the match is set for 7 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
